Giant Bulbasaur Crochet Pattern

Well hello there.  I know I promised scheduled patterns when I published my Charmander pattern.... but it turns out I have once again underestimated my ability for procrastination.

On the bright side I've cast on two blankets, a sweater, and started designing yet another knit top.

On the not so bright side, I'm behind on publishing my Kanto set.  So it's time to get on that.

Here's Bulbasaur.  Hopefully Squirtle isn't too long off (I know better than to make promises now.)

Enjoy making it!  If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments!

Now, stuff the body, and sew the head onto it.  I find it useful to use sewing pins to confirm the placement.

Sew the ears onto the head, sew the pod and legs onto the body.

Lastly, add your felt details!  I've provided some pictures below for felt placement as well as limb placement when sewing stuff on. To attach the felt you can either use fabric/hot glue, or you can hand sew the eyes and markings on using thread.

  1. Hello! How many skeins of each color is needed for this pattern? Also, I was only able to find Bernard Blanket in GoGo Green, not Green, is that the correct color?

    1. One skein per colour is plenty! And go-go green is perfect :)

  2. Hi! Could I ask what thickness(?) The yarn is? I don't know if I can find that specific brand of yarn so I might need to substitute.

    1. Sorry for the late response, but any super-bulky yarn would work

    1. Super late response, but the lower-back of the head is sewn to the opening in the body (then the legs just go on as pictured).

  4. On row 12 of the body. It says close DEC to close..it means I have to do 7 DEC in that row. It is because R 11 has 34 stitches . To do all decreases in R12 I will end up with 17 stitches. I wonder do I keep doing decreases yo close or just cinch all does 17 stitches.
